Mount Rinjani is a beautiful located on the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. it is the second highest volcano in Indonesia with an altitude of 3,726 m above sea level and is located at a latitude of 8º25 ‘LS and 116º28’ BT. Many Indonesian and most of foreign climbers favorite this mount due to the beauty of the landscape. This mountain is part of the Mount Rinjani National Park which has an area of approximately 41,330 ha and will be proposed addition is to be 76,000 ha to the west and east. Administratively the mountain is located in the area of three districts: East Lombok, Central Lombok and West Lombok.
On the west side there is a cone Rinjani caldera with an area of approximately 3,500 m × 4.800 m, extends to the east and the west. In this caldera are Segara Anak (ocean = ocean, lake) covering an area of 11 million square meters with a depth of 230 m. The water that flows from this lake formed a scenic waterfall, flowing all the way through a steep ravine. In Segara Anak, you may find many carp and tilapia and it is free for you to fish them. Around Lake Segara Anak there is flat enough and wide where you can use it as a camping place. Visitors can also fish in the lake or soak in hot water containing sulfur.
